I make decisions throughout every step of my art making process. Whether it be a change in design, or a change in the concept. I try to select the materials by what would help me portray my concept in the best way possible. My techniques may be basic, but I am still learning how to push them to create that perfect piece.
My current work is mainly ceramics. I began hating the medium when I first started out with it in high school, but with practice and a supportive teacher I learned to love the medium for the possibilities that it possesses. From this experience, it had become my medium of choice. With clay I am able to push the form of a functional vessel, and experiment with surface treatments. By challenging the unpredictability of this work, I am able to expand on my techniques and treatments in order to create a work that speaks to every individual in some way shape or form.
